After malolactic fermentation the wine was\u003cbr\u003ematured for 18 months in 80% new and 20% second fill 225L French Nevers\u003cbr\u003eoak barrels.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-size: 0.875rem;\"\u003eVINTAGE CONDITIONS\u003cbr\u003e2022 was the latest in the past 25 years, about 2 weeks later than normal. We had a\u003cbr\u003eproper cold winter with enough rain, that resulted in budbreak that was 2 weeks\u003cbr\u003elate. e earlier part of the season was quite cool, with December showing lower\u003cbr\u003emaximum and minimum temperatures. January was more moderate with a couple\u003cbr\u003eof hot days.We had slow ripening conditions that resulted in concentrated fruit\u003cbr\u003edevelopment and palate weight.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eVINTAGE CONDITIONS\u003cbr\u003eWarmer periods during the latter part of the winter resulted in some uneven\u003cbr\u003ebudding, flowering and fruit set. The moisture levels in the soils were\u003cbr\u003esatisfactory throughout the growing and ripening phase, and very little\u003cbr\u003emoisture stress was noticeable on the vines. The late start to the 2021 harvest\u003cbr\u003ewas one of the distinguishing hallmarks of this vintage.
